iPad as MIDI Controller

The iPad (or iPhone) can be a very useful tool in music creation

Use the guitar as midi controller

I was looking for a simple way of turning my electric guitar to MIDI notes. It turned out that ThumbJam managed this splendidly.

• Press the icon to the left of the Loop button
  
• Select the chromatic scale
• Adjust Threshold to achieve a sensible attack and release signal
• Go to Preferences and change the MIDI destination

Chromatic scale, also enable Network Session if you want MIDI to your DAW

Adjust sensitivity

If you want this MIDI to your DAW, go to Audio and MIDI Settings and enable Network Session. This can be used as MIDI input in Logic or any other DAW that supports network MIDI
